Tony Patton is one of several tireless researchers regarding the Battle of Resaca. He recently discovered these Confederate Military Correspondences.

The Headquarters, Army of Tennessee The Provost Marshal Generalís Office Resaca May 14, 1864 ) Col. I have sent over 600 stragglers to their commands. I have an efficient guard at the three Bridges over the River. I have instructed them to pass no one unless staff officer and higher commanders I have a surgeon placed at the Bridge to examine all men representing themselves as sick.
